Jim Messina’s music career spans over five decades, three groups, a successful solo career and many producing and engineering accolades. Whether you know him from Buffalo Springfield, Poco or Loggins and Messina, you know that Jim is a true hero when it comes to ‘70s rock music.
We’ve been keepin’ him in mind to be a part of our cruise lineup and dreaming of the day when he can grace the ‘70s Rock & Romance Cruise stage, and the stars have finally aligned. We’ve been fans of Melissa Manchester’s smooth voice and undeniable talent for many, many years and are extremely lucky to have her joining us onboard in 2022! You’re sure to know the incredible singer-songwriter and Grammy winner for her award-winning hits including “You Should Hear How She Talks About You”, “Don’t Cry Out Loud” and “Midnight Blue”. But, did you know she began her career singing commercial jingles as a young teenager? Our Music Host Joe Johnson sat down with Melissa to discuss the beginning of her music career, her songwriting class with Paul Simon at NYU, her most memorable moments on stage, and her latest project!
While we await our 2022 sailing, we look forward to hearing Melissa’s new album which will be released very soon! The upcoming album titled Re:View will include re-envisioned recordings of Melissa Manchester’s greatest hits plus a few brand new songs. Each month she will release a new video to give her fans a visual experience of the music and to portray how each song fits into a particular moment in time.
